And for my first quilt I’ve been told to go smaller so I’m gonna do maybe more of a personal size quilt since this one is for me.

There’s an old saying that you’re going to do a lot of ripping and a lot of re-sewing.

Roughly the personal quilt I’m going to attempt is about 64 inches wide by 80 inches tall. So that should be eight panels wide by ten panels tall since I’m doing 8 inch blocks.

Doing them as blocks was much faster than putting them with Sashing. So if you’re working on your first quilt I just recommend just selling blocks together then work on Sashing.

So far I have put together 4 block by 10 block and a 3 block by 10 block fronts. I need to get me 6 more panels. That means 6 more nautical fabric at at least ¼ yard. (For the 8 inch blocks).

Btw note blocks are cut to 8 ½ inches then sew down.

A lot of my nautical fabric I got from local fabric stores.

I will saw sewing blocks was much faster than doing sashing. Btw alignment is hard. Some of my blocks didn’t align well. But, I’m learning and this is for me. So I don’t mind.
