Dumplings are like a steamed or boiled biscuit. This is a very yummy Southern comfort dish.

Ingredients

  • Flour
  • Baking Powder
  • Chicken broth (chicken bullion and water)
  • Cream of Chicken Soup
  • Paprika (optional usually topped with as it’s coming)
  • Leftover Chicken (fully cooked)
  • Seasoning to your taste

Directions

I don’t measure usually. I am a dump and go kinda guy.

1. Boil chicken broth (or chicken bullion and water)

2. Add cooked chicken.

3. Mix some flour several cups or more and 1 teaspoon of baking powder.

4. Stir in some of the cooled chicken broth, for added flavor, but you can use water if you wish. Add more broth or flour until a thicker consistency.

5A. If you want drop dumplings just drop in the chicken broth and chicken as it is boiling.

5B. If you want to roll them out, the flour your board and rolling pin and roll the dumpling out and then cut to size and drop in the broth and chicken that is boiling.

5C. As an alternative you can use cheap cans of biscuits. To do that you would just break them in quarters and coat them in flour and then drop them in the boiling chicken broth and chicken.

6. Allow to boil for maybe 10-15 minutes.

7. Add 1-2 cans of cream of chicken soup.
