You may want to check with your state, but in most cases it is illegal to hang your face masks on your rearview mirror. Tickets could be issued. I would check with your state about those laws.
One of the reasons is that you are able to maintain a clear view of vision. The face masks hanging on the rearview mirror could obstruct your view.

Besides that is not the best place for them. It could say you are not taking care of your face masks and/or not washing them after each use as well.
