My first craft fair event

Preparing we got supplies, printed material and built up the inventory.

My first craft fair event - This blog post is about my first experience doing an event.

My wife watched a lot of videos on set up, looked for display ideas and much more.

We even went to other shows to network and get set up ideas.

I even found a display case at a thrift shop and got it and utilized it.

Our first event was for the Rally Round our Vets at the Cocke County Fairgrounds in Newport, TN. (Happened September 16, 2023)

It overcast calling for rain.

They closed down 2 hours early (at 4 pm) due to approaching storm. I was $1 shy of recovering booth fees. But talking to others, they didn’t do well either.

I was $1 shy of recovering my booth fees. But talking to others, they didn’t do well either.

Most people shared when events do their first event, like this was the first rally most don’t do well. They try not to do the first.

But it was a double whammy since it was this events first and my first. But I did get to network and meet people.

The people who I networked with told me don’t give up and try other fairs but go to ones who do them often or annually.

This won’t be my last, I won’t give up and keep trying.

I think the low turnout was maybe other big events around the area like Rod Run and them charging $1 per person admission. Other vendors I talked to mention most people won’t go to paid events.

Thank you to my wife for helping me on this adventure.
