Tag your quilts – you can tag your quilts or sewn items by either sewing a signature or using a literal tag.
Tag your quilts
While visiting The National Quilt Museum, I got to talk to quilt artist, Deb Cashatt, she encouraged me to tag my stuff I quilt or sew. Her quilts have a “deb” sewn on them.
Doing this can help preserve history, at least who quilted the quilt. You can sew a signature like Deb does. Her is done like an aristocratic would tag their painted master piece. After all quilts are a work of art.
You can free style this signature on your machine or embroidery the signature.

On the other hand, you can use the traditional quilt sewn by tag. It is a seen in tag. It might say …
- Sewn by:
- Quilted by:
- Handmade by:
- Etc.
You can create your own or use premade tags. These tags are very similar to the tags we find in our clothing.
