National Red Mittens Day

National Red Mittens Day may not be what you think it is, or is it? #RedMittensDay

This holiday is not celebrated on the United States, but is just North of us in Canada. It is held annually on November 21.

It began by the Hudson’s Bay Company.

This holiday is more about showing support for Canadian athletes preparing for the Olympics than it is mittens. However, it involves mittens, as you buy red mittens to show your support. Red is Canada’s National Color.

If you are Canadian, you could sell mittens and donate to that cause, if you so choose to. Or just sew mittens for fun.

Not only are the kittens to keep your fingers warm, but also to represent the generosity, pride, and excellence of every Canadian.

I am not Canadian, but saw this holiday pop up for holidays and I had to look into it since I wasn’t familiar with it.

This holiday was started in 2017, but got its start during the 2010 Winter Olympics.
