Name Your Sewing Machine Day

Name Your Sewing Machine Day – A day set aside each year to name your sewing machine if you haven’t already done so. #NameYourSewingMachineDay

Name Your Sewing Machine Day

I did not see a holiday for naming your sewing machine, so I decided to create one and have it celebrated each year on June 29th.

I picked that day because that is when I got my 2nd sewing machine, that I named Brother Stitch, on June 29th. That is why I picked that day. June 29, 2023, will be the 3rd celebration.

A Singer I have is called The Masked Bandit, since it was one I got from a thrift shop and first sewed face masks.

The my mother-in-love and step-father-in-love gave me an antique Singer Sewing machine from the 1940’s, so we named her Rosie, after Riveting Rosie.

My wife calls her Brother sewing machine, Mendi. She said because it mends and after a cartoon character on Animaniacs.

This holiday is not to be confused with National Sewing Machine Day. This holiday I created, is for naming your sewing machine. So go out and name your sewing machine!

Have you named your sewing machine?

If so, tell me the name and type of sewing machine you have. Maybe share why you named it that. If you haven’t, maybe take today or on June 29th and name your sewing machine!
