In sewing, polyfill refers to a type of material used as a filling or padding for various sewing projects. Polyfill is a soft, fluffy, and synthetic material that can be used in place of traditional fillings such as feathers, down, or cotton batting. Polyfill is commonly used to add volume and loft to various sewing projects such as quilts, pillows, and stuffed animals. It is also used to provide warmth and insulation in winter clothing, such as jackets and coats.

Polyfill is an ideal choice for those who prefer to use synthetic materials instead of natural fibers. It is hypoallergenic, which means it does not cause allergies, and it is resistant to mold and mildew. Additionally, it is easy to clean and care for, making it a practical choice for items that require frequent washing or cleaning.

Polyfill comes in various forms, including sheets, rolls, and loose fiberfill. The type of polyfill used depends on the sewing project and personal preference. For example, loose fiberfill is often used in stuffing small and intricate items such as toys or pillows, while sheets and rolls are used for larger projects such as quilts and comforters.

When using polyfill in sewing projects, it is essential to distribute it evenly to ensure that the final product has a smooth and consistent appearance. Additionally, it is important to choose the right type and amount of polyfill to achieve the desired level of warmth, loft, and softness.

In conclusion, polyfill is a versatile and practical material commonly used in sewing projects to provide padding, insulation, and volume. It is a synthetic and hypoallergenic material that comes in various forms, making it suitable for a wide range of projects. Whether you are making a cozy winter jacket or a cuddly stuffed animal, polyfill is an excellent choice for adding softness, warmth, and comfort to your creations.

FYI, instead of Polyfill, I added crap fabric pieces as filling in a stuffed animal before.
